WATCH VIDEO FIRST!

This device detects if people have been near your chest.
It looks like a chest with a painting above it, but when you go near it, you pick up a wooden plank.
The pressure plate this was sitting on pops up, and this starts a redstone chain.
This chain sets off the sound of note blocks, and makes a redstone torch go on.
It also blows up a piece of TNT far away. It's very hard to miss all three of these things, and you will know that somebody accessed your chest!

TO RESET THE MACHINE, GO ON TOP OF HOUSE, DROP WOOD IN HOLE. THEN PUT REDSTONE TORCH ON BIT OF WOOD NEXT TO THE PISTON AND THE PRESSURE PLATES.THEN PUT A TNT ON THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF NEXT TO THE REDSTONE WIRE.
This can be copied into your map at any time.

only problem is that the wood de-spawns after 5 min. try make a cactus farm that drops items onto the wooden pressure plate so it stays constantly activate. use a rs nor latch to flip when activated which keeps the indicator torch on even when more cactus fall back on the pressure plate .

i tested your one and it did not work all the time with the redstone torch not falling on the wooden pressure plates when the piston moved. i have spent about 30 minutes modifying yours to show you what i mean about the farm and rs nor latch . hope it helps

Also look at the redstone first to get an idea of what happens then test it out. have put signs up to explain most things
