Ilyushin Il-22M-11 Airborne Command Post
Russian Air Force. NATO: Coot-B. It is based on the Soviet Il-18 turboprop airliner
Two versions:
- standard, RA-75917 shot down by PMC Wagner, June 24, 2023 during the Wagner Group rebellion
- Il-22M-11-RT upgraded with SURT(Samolotnyi Uzel Re-Translatsii, airborne relay hub) “Sokol” (“Falcon”) radio relay system)
You can tell the immediate difference with the L-shaped antenna on the roof and bottom. Other things like propeller tips are silver vs blue, different amount of antennas, ВВС России different position.
