This is the city Illyria on the Server Legends of Illyria.
I'm building this for a Roleplay map. I've been working on it since the beginning of August.
It's roughly based on Solitude, from the game Skyrim, with the rock'n all.
All built by me, with help from world-edit and feedback from various people on Illyria :3

Terrain is custom-made, and the underside is still incomplete.

-My Screenshots are NOT the best, I'm not using an shaders or any of that shiz xD This is taken with the texture pack I used to build it. It may look horrible in other tp's. I'll update my screenshots as I build.

City: Illyria

Country: Narona

Continent: Conlegia

World: Arcan

In the city Illyria, guilds rule. Every 50 years a guild is selected from the many that dominate the city, to lead it onwards in the next 50 years. To choose between them, a 'game' is held. A game of Capture the Flag. The city is the arena, and any means is acceptable to get the flag. Any damage that is caused has to be dealt with by the successful guild. Casualties are plentiful, tricks are fair play, and any guild can take part. Civilians set up camp outside the city walls, or join the fight themselves, helping out the guild they believe should rule. That time has come, once again.

The Guilds

There are lots of small guilds, dotted around the city, and there are the main five. The main five include the Assassin's Guild, the Mercenaries Guild, the Crafting Guild, the Merchants Guild and the Magician's Guild. These guilds often have the most support or members. Or, in the case of the Assassin's, the most history. The 'ownership' of the city has barely ever belonged to any other than these five.

The Main Guilds

The Assassins

By far the oldest guild. While it may not have nearly as many members as the other four, it is well respected. The Assassins guild has been the leader of Illyria the most. Rule under them is fair, and normally average.

Little is known about the assassins guild by those who are not members. What is know, however, is that the initiation is incredibly difficult- less than 1/5th of all those who attempt to join actually succeed. For those within the guild, though, while not everything is known about it, most things are. Everybody in the guild knows that there can only be 206 members at one time. As such, there are 206 beds for those who are part of the guild. This is because, as identification, every single assassin must collect one particular bone from every person they kill, and add it to a long piece of string given upon arrival. The more bones an assassin has, the more successful they are. Bones can be made smaller, even into beads, if the wearer desires, but all assassins must have their string with them at all times. The Guild itself hires no staff. Each assassin has their own job within the guild. Some of these take higher priority than others, and the guild will always have these particular roles, whilst others have smaller parts that are only filled when a greater number is housed within the building.

Within the assassins guild is a notice board, with any jobs the guild has been requested to do. On that 'application' is the target and reward. No other information is given. If an assassin wishes to take a job, he or she must remove the notice from board and place it in a drawer with their corresponding bone written on it. The job is then taken on in any way they wish.

The Mercenaries

The mercenary's Guild has changed considerably throughout its life. The once ancient barracks have crumbled, and the main Guild Hall has been converted into something closer to a meed hall. The main floor has amassive fire, which almost always has some of them drinking around it, telling stories of their adventures. The higher floors hold dorms for the many mercenaries. Upon arrival, each mercenary is assigned one of these beds, which they use whenever they are not on a job. The lower floor of the guild is the training rooms. Filled with many things, it can be used to refine any skills they wish.

Being an ancient guild it has many traditions, the new initates have to enter through a miniscule back door on their knees, they never have to kneel infront of anyone again. Hanging in the main hall, the warm and comfortable dining room, hangs a huge wolfs head, 5 times the size of a normal wolf. This in Grejor the wolf of legend that the first guild members defended the city against; in honour of such a noble and fierce opponent the guilds symbol is the wolf and domesticated descendants of Greyjor are given to each guild member. On Alfr’s day every year, in celebration of his victory they go on an annual wolf hunt, however they only kill one and as penance leave out offerings for the wolf packs.

The basement it home to the new initates and the lower ranks, although many people join the war simply because the like hitting things, they find it hard to rank up. The guild is tactical and intelligent, supporting magic as well as fighting. It educates all its members, and you must be literate before going on a mission. The guild takes most missions but they first have to be approved by the current leader Erana Wort, they have immunity from most laws due to their power but are careful. Inside the guild obedience is useful, cowards are instantly punished by branding and banished from the guild and the guilds allied streets, criminals cannot join the guild to escape crimes.

The Merchants

A mischievous bunch in their own way, only the best traders are able to get into the Merchants guild. Anything is traded here, people, food, building materials, you name it. If it's got a name, someone's selling it at the Merchant's guild. While most think of them as arrogant weaklings, they are often far from that. In truth, the Merchants are often skilled in many different styles of combat.

There was a time when Illyria had lots of traders, shopkeepers, merchants. These people were concerned about the economy of the city, sowhen some decisions made by the assassin's guild (who were currently incontrol) made them angry they decided to get together and start a protest to get the assassins to stop the changes from taking place, however this made the assassins angry, they burned down the main market where most trading took place and got rid of many of the traders who were caught protesting. Most of the traders escaped towards outside Illyria in tents, as the city grew eventually the small community of merchants got sucked inside, by that time trading was more widely accepted in the city and the older merchants, who were there at the protest, decided to create a guild to try and make the economy of the city as strong as it was before. After many campaigns and new members, twelve years later the guild got selected to control Illyria. In this time they repaired the economy of Illyria, built a mighty market and dedicated part of it to the merchant's guild hall. Since then the guild has thrived and gotten rather close to domination of the city at many times, they have only had control over the city once so far.

The Craftsmen

Filled to the brim with skilled and able craftsmen from around the globe, the Crafting guild has many a talented carpenter, blacksmith or fletcher. Most furniture, armour, weaponry, clothing and other man-made goods come from this guild. As such, the Craftsmen of this guild and theMerchants of their own have formed a close bond, and often work together.

The Magicians

As one of the newest guilds, the Magicians Guild has gained much popularity in a short space of time. Magic taught and traded here rangesfrom fighting to healing, useless to useful.

Founded by Goran Vincze, The Magicians were a small guild not promising much. After stories were being told around the city the small guild soongained popularity. The first spells first started as simple healing andutility spells. After weeks of these simple spells the teaching soon began to teach other spells for fighting, summoning, and defending. The Magicians only select specific candidates to join but before joining theguild the candidates must take a trial involving both physical, and mental challenges. Only the strong get through the trials, and they musttake an oath to swear that they will not use their magic for own gain, and or for destruction of others. They shall only use their magic to protect and defend themselves and others. After which they may begin their training in the magic arts.

Other Guilds

The Guavas

The Guavas is a small select group of talented people. They fight with the power of music and must carry some sort of instrument with a soothing sound at all times, or various knives, axes, bows, other lethalweapons ect. They are always wearing some sort of green and are very violent towards people when provoked. All we want is peace to the world and we are willing to take down all people in our path to get it when they are in a particularly bad mood. The leader and founder of The Guavas is Guava the pug.

The Thieves

Run by a shadowy figure called the Crow the guild is filled with mainly poor children who find it easy to pick pockets. The guild is split into 5 flights, and is collectively known as the Murder instead ofguild. The leader of one of the 5 flights is branded with a dark black feather. They each have 3 lieutenants who's job it is to discipline the ordinary members. The Crow has never been particularly bothered about running the city, instead preferring to hoard a large amount of gold. To enter the guild you have t past a series of tests, most of the guild members (Including the Crow) are illiterate. They do not have a guild building as such, they merely threatened a bunch of people out of their homes and made a wall connecting them. It is dirty with a huge black market in the square, the Crow lives in a large attic whilst the ordinary members of the guild have to sleep in houses with the walls demolished to make large dormitories. The kitchens are served by family members of the thieves, the officers get a room to themselves, served bylesser members. Their colours are grey and black, usually draped over the walls lazily. Some houses are dedicated to blacksmiiths or kitchen rooms and somewhere high up is home to the crows the send messages with.
