The continent of Mesa boasts a massive, forsaken desert. Within these sands lies a large, mineral rich region called the Topaz Plains, known for the massive fortress city of Iris. The city of Iris boasts a mysterious secret: the city's massive channels of water are flooded by a single water block, and the source is controlled by an abundantly wealthy ruler who controls the flow of water. Due to the inspiring nature of Iris, adventurers from all around Steamworld are drawn to this mystical, water-rich city for trades and rare desert resources.

Iris, part of the greater Dunic Alliance, has constructed a decently sized airport, which only supports up to midrange airships. There currently seems to be a Sorus-class frigate docked in Iris.
