~BEFORE YOU PLAY, PLEASE READ THIS: In order to achieve the best quality of gameplay, you must pay attention to your surroundings, open chests, read books, look at signs, follow paths, all that stuff, because it really does make a big difference!~
Thanks for considering my entry, this is actually my first contest I've competed in, so I'm really excited! The idea of the city was based on the fact that you often see abandoned mineshafts while underground, but you never actually see them lead to any sort of civilization, and there are really no signs that anyone's been there beyond the obvious fact that it's a manmade structure and the occasional chest you find lying around. Even outside, when the mineshaft leads to an opening, you never see a village or anything. So, who was there? And where did they go? My idea was "Maybe there IS an underground community somewhere, but we just aren't looking hard enough". I also chose to have a very loose plot connected to the city, maybe to explain why the mineshafts are always abandoned, maybe to explain the obvious absence of people within the city. My personal goal for this project wasn't winning as much as it was that I wanted people to have fun and enjoy themselves. I mean, that's the whole reason I created it. Overall, the process was very long and difficult, full of failures, fires, and all kinds of setbacks, but I wouldn't change it for the world. It was a great experience, and it really put my creativity to the test. Thanks again, I hope you have a lot of fun!
