This is not only my first time participating in a building contest, but also building something so modern and small. I usually build massive fantasy stuff. I started really late, so I had only a day for every house to build. Since I absolutely hate it to use references of any kind, or try to build normal, my structures became quite messy. But that's what gives buildings it's character and I like that. I build like I draw. I just start without knowing what I do. Like scribbling. The outcome is always a mystery.

  1. (1x1) - Just a house with garden on top.

  2. (2x1) - Another house with a stone garden. The shape is like a breaking wave.

  3. (1x2) - Another house. I wanted it to look like a tree, but without actual trees. Its an old asian style mixed with modern art.

  4. (2x2) - Another house. But this time I tried to build something different and had an actual plan in my head. Well I'm not proud of the outcome.

  5. (1x3) - The community center. Just a place to spend time. I tried again to build something more clean.

  6. (2x3) - The fire department. Since I don't like references, this was challenging. I only looked up what a fire truck looks like.


Since this is also my first time ever uploading a map, I hope that everything works just fine. I also added reference pictures to show what it looks like without shaders.

I'm surprised you think the 2x2 is the worst one... That house was my favorite! I love this building style, sad to not see it in 1st place.

Ah, that is an incredibly relatable way to build and draw. Letting the creation pave its own path to existence and decide on how it will look is a great method and is even interesting for the builder themself, so I approve of that. Nice to see a fire department too - I don't think anyone else has added a fire department in their build so that's something the city could certainly benefit from. :) The houses are also pretty nice - especially the 1x2 and 2x1 houses as those are pretty creative and lovely style choices there. Great job. :)
