Introduction
The art palace museum was originally designed to become one of the places to host art exhibition for Chinese arts and many other world art. You may find yourself in endless halls of paintings or even lost in the world of colors and vibrancy.
The Design
The front building performs as the gateway to the art world and the exhibition hall for smaller paintings. The tall design allows the full use of space and needs for modern trends.
Passing the front building gives the long stretch of path to the main palace. Along the two side are larger exhibition halls. These exhibition halls use to be designed for another project but later was moved here for artworks that are greater in size.
The final palace is based on the structural design of ancient Chinese palaces. The giant palace is mainly for hosting special events and large exhibitions from all over the world.
Cultural Significance
The museum was designed for only one purpose - revealing the potential of Chinese cultural heritage. Modern day architecture lost the pure essence of beauty in culture, and the design was targeted more for the idea of practicality, functionality, and simplicity. The Art Museum is a rebellion towards the modern trends of simple architectural form and challenges the eye to accept a complicated matter of forms and shapes.
