Why I picked this aircraft as my first military aircraft?
I picked the P-3 Orion as rememberence of MH370 (Lost plane), at Pearce AirBase in Perth, WA, numerous p-3 orion aircraft were sent to the suspected area of the missing aircraft. It is a weird response to this question but that was what came to mind

The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a four-engine turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraftdeveloped for the United States Navy and introduced in the 1960s. Lockheed based it on the L-188 Electracommercial airliner. The aircraft is easily distinguished from the Electra by its distinctive tail stinger or "MAD Boom", used for the magnetic detection of submarines.
