History
In 1979, the first M1 Abrams was produced as a replacement for the M60A3. The M1 and M1IP were fitted with a 105mm M68 rifled cannon, later replaced with a 120mm M256 Smoothbore when the M1A1 was built in 1986. In 1992, the M1A2 was made as an improvement of the M1A1, which was later also upgraded. This upgrade was called the M1A2SEP. (System enhancement package) The M1A2 and M1A2SEP could also be fitted with TUSK gear. (Tank Urban Survival Kit)
