When people join my server they leave because of the terrible spawn. please, help me fix this problem

Here is what we have done, so far.
Main area. (Almost)
Shop (N)
Arena (N)
City (N)
Marketplace (N)
We need help mainly on the city, arena, and marketplace.

I am experienced with making arenas & such. I can also assist with redstone and the marketplace. I have friends who have experience w/ large scale projects like cities. Interior design is also an option.
