This is a pair of massive cacti farms that me and my semi-admin created. He came up with the idea and conscripted me to help him optimize the design. We used the ice chute method for the transfer of items (water over ice = insane item transit speeds). My design is the bigger tower, it uses a series of 85 downspouts in each floor wherever the water was stagnant to provide for 0 item loss due to inefficient collection. the items then fall all the way down into the main water collection tank above the user's head and collects in the middle before running down a collection chute and eventually into a lava furnace. The lava furnace is necessary to dispose of unneeded cacti as they would eventually build up more and more and make a huge pile of lag for anyone in the area.

The main tower is 18 floors tall, and 125 blocks tall overall. This was built in our tallworld where I took out everything except one layer of bedrock and 2 layers of stone. This allows for construction of structures up to 127 blocks tall. Each floor is a 30x30m space with 225 cacti per floor. the irregularities shown in the "cutter" blocks above with the torches are to allow for proper flow from the floor above's downspouts.

The output on this beast is estimated at about 19,200 cacti per hour. This was measured by gathering cacti over a period of 6mins then multiplying it by 10. standing in the collection trough will fill your inventory from completely empty in less than 9 mins.
