Been working more on my long-term medieval castle project in Minecraft and it’s finally starting to come together 👀

Still a lot left to detail, interiors still need work, and I want to improve the surrounding areas too, but I’m really happy with the overall shape so far.

Would love to hear your feedback or ideas!

What should I add/change next? More towers? Custom terrain? Interior ideas? Different wall details? 👇.

Making the castle a bit asymmetrical would probably help add more to it. A lot of the small forts i like to make have winding paths and towers as these old castle tend to purposefully be mazelike to ward off intruders. Small hidden passageways tend to connect important rooms making for quick escape routes, and hallways and corridors serve to confuse an intruders sense of direction. Small holes in the walls pointing towards the bridge, or out of the castle could be good vantage points for guards to fire arrows from the walls. The throne room tends to be rather high up int the castle as well, and the treasury shouldn't be easily accessible.

Fantasy castles are all about packing paths, traps, and rooms into close vertical castles, while realistic castles tend to be more sprawling and cover a wider area.
