The Medical Arts Building was built in 1933 by a member of the Alworth family; A family of developers responsible for the tallest building in Duluth amongst other developments. As it's name suggests, it was intended to be a medical facility for physicians, dentists, other doctors and their patients. It is one of a few examples of art deco architecture in Duluth, making it's presence today in the city significant. Surprisingly, it continues to serve the city as it did when it opened; Teeth are cleaned, prescriptions are prescribed, and the health of the public is maintained.
