I've made a few churches, but this is my best so far.

As the largest church in the area it occupies a prestigious site close to the castle on a large plot of land in the middle of the walled part of town. Next to the castle, it is the second tallest building and the people of the town have spent a lot of time, sweat, and money on making it as decorative as possible.

MC: 1.10.2
RP: John Smith: Legacy

This church includes:
many stained glass windows
plastered interior walls
open nave
chancel
pulpit
alter
transepts
ornate wall hangings
holy water vestibules
floor crypts in the crossing
sacristy for vestments
bell tower
outdoor graveyard

Fantastic build. I like the contrast between the exterior austerity and the plastered interior; it seems realistic. And the scale is just perfect; most builders tend to oversize their projects.

Thanks, I tried to make it as realistic as I could. Your right about the size. I wasnt going for a gothic cathedral, just a parish church that would cater to a small town and the surrounding countryside.

I like it. But it looks too modern inside.

In what way? They would have plastered and painted the inside of churches (and castles) so the walls wouldn't be plain old stone. A lot of castle interiors were really brightly colored and even gaudy by today's standards.

Really nice build. A Norman church with a central tower...high class. Great little details. Really like the crypt in the graveyard.

Yeah I guess it is Norman isn't it. I never even noticed. It kinda looks like Christchurch in Dublin. That makes sense, most of the castles I build are the square Norman style as well.

It's some of my favourite architecture. Outwardly simple architecture, but bellies a handsome complexity. Sounds like BS, I know. But it's really hard to keep to scale when building churches, and not make them look like Cartoon buildings. :)
