I'm sure you have all stumbled across at least one of those old mine shafts deep below the surface of the Over World, right? The wooden beams and occasional minecart track running through the massive expanses of tunnels that seem to never end. Well, with my naivety in being a newish player to Minecraft, I hadn't realized the mass of these tunnels. At the time, I didn't even know that the map was near infinite. During this cluelessness, I started a massive project, without even knowing I had done so. I decided....here it is... That I would rebuild and restore the mine shafts below my map. "PurplePerson," one might say, "why would you decide to do such a massive project even though you'd still be considered a beginner?" To which I reply "Because... wait... how big ARE the mines? Fuuuuuuuu..."

Whilst bumming around my map, A World Anew, I thought to myself, "Hey, I haven't been in the Nether World yet..." And so, with this thought in mind, I constructed a portal. Then, I remember that they had a fast travel, worm-hole like quality. While in the nether world, I crafted yet another portal. This one popped up in a tree a few meters away from the other. I destroyed my first portal, not needing it anymore. Back into the Nether I went. Scoping the scene before me, I took note that within the Nether, I was atop a floating mountain. Climbing down the mountain with what would probably be some broken bones in real life, I crafted yet another portal using the materials from the old. To my awe, I came out a few hundred blocks or so below ground, right in the middle of a huge network of tunnels. So, naturally, I got lost a few times before managing to relocate the portal. During my time of being lost I gathered plenty of cobblestone to get my way back up to the first portal and back into the Over World.

Over time, I decided to revisit my tunnel and rebuild it into its former glory. Silly me. After quite a while of resource gathering and pain staking hours spent in the tunnels and nether, I had built a small temple around the second portal, a bridge down to the third, and a mini temple around that. I have made enough progress through the tunnels now that I can safely walk around my tunnels with the security of my Iron Golems and have built a small home within the tunnels. And so here we are. But, I'm wondering if I should actually continue. I mean, these tunnels are as infinite as the map, so the chances of me actually ever finishing are preeeeety slim anyway, right? Let you decide.
