Hey guys, I was thinking about how Minecraft is so much about hiding from creepers and viciously murdering innocent chickens. This is fun and all, but it can get tiresome to find chickens and then pelt them with their own eggs. So I decided to create a multi-player Capture the Point Attack and Defend style map to play instead.

-Decide who will be on which team. The attacking team is brown and the defending team is gray. From the entrance, run through the tunnels to your side and sleep in a bed to allow for easy re-spawning. There is also an observer tower which can be accessed through a tunnel starting from the entrance or you can simply go to the third floor of the entrance.

-To start the game, when both teams are ready, press the ready button located by the doors of each base. A note will sound confirming that you have pressed it. If you are unsure if it has been pressed, press it again, nothing bad will happen if it is pressed multiple times.

-If the game is not starting, first check that both teams have pressed the ready button. This can be done either by simply asking, or checking the "ready" lights in the observer tower. If it still isn't starting, check the "reset" light. If it's off, press the reset button. This may be necessary if somebody tried to cheat by unlocking points early, or if the previous game ended without a winner.

-If necessary, there is a button to pause the game. Simply pull the lever to pause, and push it back up when ready to play again. The pause button stops the game's countdown timer and closes all the doors. A lit light means the game is paused. (See image above for this)

-Both teams receive the same items. (bow, sword, and boots) The two differences are the which boots (leather vs chainmail to differentiate teams) and that the attacking team receives minecarts to capture the points with. Arrows are found in the chest by the doors.

-When the game starts, the defending team will get out a few seconds early to allow them more time to run as they have more distance to cover.

-There are three control points for the attacking team to capture. To capture a point, you unlock it, by pressing the button, and place a minecart on the rail and hold it there for seven seconds. The order does not matter. If the defending team locks the point back, or knocks the minecart off, the point is reset. Once you have captured the first point, you can move on to the second, and then the third. Trying to capture the second point before the first does not work. The same idea goes for the third. A point captured by the attacking team can not be recaptured by the defending team. If the defending team manages to stay in control of at least one of the control points after ten minutes, they win. When either team wins, all doors shut, the winning team's color is displayed, and the game is automatically reset. The display board will be reset at the start of a new game.

-There are various redstone devices that can be used to your advantage. These include a water-release gate, walls that come up to block arrows for you, shutters to prevent players from seeing, and blocks that push people around and sometimes into cobweb.

-Not many people enjoy running around a map when they could be out beating their opponent to death with their bare hands.For this reason, there are doors that open depending on where the action is. For the defending team, there is a door that stays open until the first control point is captured. For the attacking team, once the second control point is captured, their door opens up. These doors close when the game is paused or is not active.

-There are dispensers on both teams' sides which, when pressed, randomly gives health, buffs, debuffs, or an ender pearl. All potions are splash potions meaning you don't need to drink anything. These dispensers can only be pressed once every 30 seconds. Make good use of these as it greatly influences your team's chance of winning, especially in 1v1 matches.

-Matches between two players can be done by pressing the 1v1 match button. This changes the games length to five minutes to keep the game fair. Pressing the button multiple times does nothing. The light will flash confirming that you have pressed the button.

-No entering your opponents base

-No bed obstructing

-You must wear your team's boot colors at all times (exception is for 1v1 matches)

-Must be on survival mode

-No breaking blocks

-May only use items provided within the game

-No using the observer tower for a height advantage

-No placing blocks

-No enchanting

-You may want to set the server to peaceful if it's your first time playing to prevent monsters from spawning. Though seeing skeletons sniping your opponent is quite satisfying as well.

-The map is designed to be played through daytime and nighttime. It has just enough light to see your way around. It's quite funny to headshot your opponent with an arrow at night.

-If somehow you manage to run through all the items in the game, I recommend simply using a fresh copy of the map. It's just a pain to refill everything.

-If you do decide to play by different rules, make sure that everyone is aware of the change in rules.

-If you manage to get an Ender Pearl, use it quickly or someone might come along and kill you for it.

-While strategy may be unnecessary in smaller games, in larger games, it can greatly help your team.

-I created, designed, and decorated this entire game.

-Redstone took me a little more than a day. Decorating took two weeks even with the help of MCEdit and Worldedit. That says a little about me.
