Here is my concept/tutorial video for a mirrored floor effect in minecraft, using no mods or texture packs or anything, only ice and a bit of world edit =D

Although you could actually do it without world edit... but 'aint nobody got time fo' dat!

you can replicate sunlight slightly down below, beacons...but of course youd need to make sure there placed correct to stop ice melt...(glowstone and torches are yellow light, white light is daylight and beacons) the alternative way is using end portals which emit SOME light and to my knowledge dont melt ice

I found that if you use //brush cylinder chest you are able to make the floor completely transparent and you won't have the melting ice issue. I don't know how it would look as a mirror but it could be interesting to try out.

Your torches are too close to the ice. Or glowstone/lava etc...

There are a few reasons why ice melts. It could be:
A- You're editing your build in a non-SNOW biome
B- There's too much light near your ice(eg. glowstone, torches, fire, etc.)
C- Your game is bugged(highly unlikely, but a possibility, lol)

If your problem is A, save a schematic of your build with MCedit, open up Minecraft, make a new world, and custom set the biome to "snowy" or whatever it's called.
If it's B, well, tough luck, nothing much can be done about that, other than taking the light away from your build, or somehow modding the ice to be "unmeltable." Though I don't even know if that's possible.
