I can't really like anything when the primary material is cobblestone and you are using the default texture pack... The house also looks way out of place and I... really can't like it. I want to, but I can't... Ok, I lied. I outright hate it. Nothing that you have shown whatsoever speaks "modern" in anyway.

i agree with fatbaby, the back is very nice and modern looks nice, maybe use snow blocks? also make the front a little more modern

You should use smooth stone for the walls, It will make it look more modern. also try varying your materials when you build, it makes for more interesting architecture IMO. Nice layout though, I really like the cutout of the second floor, gives the room a nice depth
