Welcome to this submission
Classic motor set is the name of a series of electric trainsets of the NMBS. In the period 1939-1979 almost 500 of these trains were built.
The first sets were originally delivered in a livery that consisted of two shades of green. From 035, the dark green color was the standard for years, first with narrow visibility bands and later with wide visibility bands. The 001 to 034 pairs also received the dark green painting. This gave this type of equipment the nickname 'greens'. The term 'tweetjes' was also common to these couples. From 1984 the sets with number 152 and higher were painted burgundy red. The trains from the MS56 series (MS: engine, often AM to the French 'automotrice') are made of stainless steel and are never fully painted.
