hi guys :D things come fast that days :D

here is my newest build which i created in the lovely warp palmbeach on th World of Keralis server.
the conecept of this house was to combine the architecture of 2 pastmasters. the first architect i
thought of was Richard Neutra - the groundfloor is inspired by his architecture. u can see this by
the large amount of glass i used and the protruding roof for example. u can find also design elements,
neutra used, on the landscaping like the -reflecting pool- on the left side of the house. the first floor
is inspired by one of me heros :D - Le Corbusier - when u check his builds out u see that the first floor
has the same window organisation as the -Villa Savoye-, basically :D

Interesting. Also your username is quite something. You're trying to fill pretty big shoes here, Mies. As far as your inspiration from Le Corbusier, I don't get that sense from this. Le Corbusier was known for his "Verse Une Architecture", where he lists his five points towards a new architecture, which are:
  • Pilotis (reinforced columnar grid structure that holds up the entire building
  • Free Plan (because of the pilotis, you are free to place non-load bearing walls anywhere in the building)

  • Free Facade (because the exterior is now separate from the structure, your facade is now free and can be designed without reference to the structure)
  • Roof Garden (Le Corbusier was very big on the idea of utilizing a flat roof for a domestic purpose instead of just to keep rain off of the house)

  • Horizontal Windows (Another thing he was very big on was large horizontal windows as opposed to the smaller vertical windows defined by structural walls)

    I don't see much of the above in this building to be quite honest. I see something that is angular and honestly quite cluttered in decoration. It doesn't at all resemble Le Corbusier, whose ideology was that architecture should represent the contemporary technology of the time (read "Vers Une Architecture"); nor does it resemble Mies van der Rohe, who believed in integrity of structure and the light touch of a building upon the earth (see The Farnsworth House, Domino Center, and Barcelona Pavilion). It's not bad for a Minecraft build, but if you're going for anything that references important architects, really go for it; don't just go through the motions.

to mies van der rohe at first - he is my idol :D i had the opportunity to see his buildings in Krefeld like the - Haus Lange&Esters - and the industrial build he designed :D - to the house itself it was just "inspiration" from neutra and corbusier - i was not about to fulfill the ideas of corbusier throughout the entire house
