This is the Overworld Apocalypse. In this small desert city you will fight through 8 waves of heavily armored zombies as either an elf, and orc, or a human with the tools of either a warrior or an archer.

RACES:


Human
The Human is strong and resistant like the orc, and fast like the elf, but not as much as either of them. Use the human's special ability to gain mad melee strength.
Human tips and tricks
-The Human works well with either the Warrior or the Archer class.
-Good for getting up close to the enemy if necessary, but it's better to stay at around a medium distance.
-The human's special ability grands 25 seconds of melee strength, allowing you to one-shot your opponent. Keep in mind that you can one-shot with a bow melee strike during this time, but it will not affect the bow ranged shot.


Elf
The Elf is quick and nimble, allowing them to escape large hordes of zombies quickly and easily, though they are the most fragile of the bunch and the weakest. Use the elf's special ability to gain a massive speed boost.
Elf tips and tricks
-The elf works well with the Archer class, allowing them to keep distance between them and their opponent.
-Due to the fact that the elf takes the highest percent damage and deals the lowest via melee attack, it is best to stay farther from the enemy.
-The elf's special ability grants a 20 second speed boost and has the lowest cool-down of all the abilities. It is best used if an ally requires quick assistance while you are far from them.



Orc
The Orc is strong and tough, designed for battle, allowing it to go face to face with its opponent. Use the orc's special Iron Hide ability to gain a major armor boost.
Orc tips and tricks
-The orc works well with the Warrior class.
-Since the orc takes the lowest percent damage and deals the highest via melee, the orc is best in hand to hand combat.
-The orc's special ability grants 25 seconds of pure invincibility, though it has the highest cool-down of all the abilities. It is best used in large hordes of enemies because you take 0% damage, but dealing 100% (of your normal damage).




Local

The Local race is different in each map and is exclusive to that map. Currently the only available map is First Sands which holds a desert theme, and therefore the local race for First Sands will be a sand/desert based race. These races will be a bit more complex than the default ones.
First Sands local race

-Name: The Sandman.
-Race Stats: Same as Human.
Passives
-Passive abilities are always active and have no cost.
-When grounded (not in air) and on sand the sandman deals slightly more melee damage.
-When grounded and on any type of sandstone the sandman takes slightly less overall damage.
Special Ability
-The sandman's special ability is called "Mr. Sandman."
-This ability puts nearby enemies to sleep for a short time, leaving them vulnerable to attack or allowing the sandman to escape.





CLASSES:


Archer
-The archer is given a bow and a healing arrow, damaging the undead, but healing allies.
-Shooting an arrow at the ground will cause an area of effect in which any and all entities caught within it are unable to move and receive small bits of instant health over time. The more entities caught within the area, the larger it is and the longer it will last.
Warrior
-The warrior is given an iron sword.
-Throwing a sword on the ground will create an area of effect for 10 seconds around the sword, in which mobs will be levitated and unable to move. Players will be levitated and only able to move while levitated if they had been caught in the area at all. Once any entity leaves the area, it will be between 5 and 10 second before it can move again.



ENEMIES:


Basic Zombie
The basic zombie is a heavy mob, carrying a sharpness I stone axe, a shield, iron chest plate, iron pants, and diamond boots. Other than that the mob has its base health and movement speed, and a follow range of 300 (though it does not always seem to work). The mob has no special abilities. Each kill is worth 1 Currency.


MECHANICS:


Special Abilities
Special abilities vary based on the race you pick. The Elf race has 20 seconds of extra speed, the Orc race has 25 seconds of invincibility, and the Human race has 25 seconds of one-shot-strength on melee hits. Each ability has its own cool-down time which is displayed on the sidebar. It ranges from elf being the lowest, to orc being the highest cool-down time. These abilities are triggered by hitting your crouch key (SHIFT by default).
Currency
Currency currently has no purpose. Perhaps new purchasable classes will be added in the future... ;)

The "open alpha" version of this map is now available for download! This is version is not a 100% complete release on the building side, but all of the mechanics and game play materials needed should be in place. This is for a community test of the map. It would be helpful if people who play the map could provide feedback in the comments letting me know of any bugs in the game, or just anything you would like to see added and/or changed.




On another note, with the release of MineCraft 1.10 today, I plan to work quickly to do any updates needed for 1.10. I as of this update I have not tested to see if the game is functional in 1.10, so play in 1.9.4 to be safe if you choose. If the map turns out to be compatible with 1.10 then I will wait until I have relatively substantial changes to release an update. Otherwise you will hopefully see one soon. Enjoy!

I just posted a short note on the top of the description regarding this if you would like to read that. It basically says that withing 12 to 15 hours from now I aim to release an "open alpha" version, which is mostly complete, though not entirely. The point of this is to get feedback from the community as to any bugs they find or any mechanics they want to see added. The download is open to everybody, but ShadowKingCookie and I would personally love to have you as one of our testers. If you have any feedback on it when it releases or anything you would like to see added please don't hesitate to let us know. As of now it supports only 8 waves and 5 spawnpoints for the zombies, though both the wave and spawnpoint systems are completely modular, so it is easy to add more if it seems like a better choice. You can see the races and classes available at the moment above in the description, and if you would like any others or have any ideas I would love to hear them. The rest of the mechanics that you need to know for now are also above. Enjoy!
