I think you should go a fishier, or at least non-humanoid, direction, and also experiment with using non-rendered images for covers, at least until the quality of the build matches the quality of the render. You can do a lot better with the skills you presently have. Sorry for the hard critique. Just couldn't shake my gut feeling on this one. Hope it helps. <3
