About me:
Hey, it's me again, martijnfa. This time to show you the Tower of Challenges!
About this project:
This is the Tower of Challenges from the Capital City located on "Planet Merdria". (For a full introduction and a global overview of the "Planet Merdria Project", visit this link:http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/planet-merdria-capital-city/)
PLANET MERDRIA - TOWER OF CHALLENGES
The Tower of Challenges of a large, high stone tower and is meant to be a challenge, or quest for survival-players to reach the Nether portal on top of the tower. Now it doesn't really have any traps or something, but it's not that which makes this tower special. The tower hasmore than 10 floors with many stairs and it is built in gothic-like architecture.
Around the tower lies a symmetrical field of grass and bushes with around it gothic walls and towers and 4 entrances. The tower itsself is symmetrical as well.

Tower of Challenges Review
Part of Planet Merdria
Made by: martijnfa
Review by Alex50911
The Tower of Challenges is part of Planet Merdria, made by martijnfa. Planet Merdria is a collection of Minecraft projects with sort of a medieval twist! The Tower of Challenges is the only map from the collection that has been released. The other projects will be published as the collection becomes more popular. Be sure to give martijnfa’s profile a visit!
View when you spawn
Hello everyone, long time since I have done a review and I’m coming back better than ever with 2 project reviews every week (unless there is a contest -_o)!
Today, I’m gonna be telling you about the Tower of Challenges that as you may have read above, is part of the Planet Merdria.
The Tower of Challenges is a medieval style tower that packs nearly 10 floors inside of it, even though of its size from outside.
First, you spawn exactly as the image above shows. You can see the tower, whose entrance is facing west, and the beautiful gardens around it. The garden and walkways were well made, incorporating many minerals like glowstone, lapis lazuli and other non-mineral elements.
View of the gardens and the tower base
A problem I noticed when I entered the map for the first time is that you spawn in Creative mode, which makes the name Tower of Challenges, quite pointless in some way. So, just switch to survival, but remember that cheats are enabled!
After spawning, I looked around a bit, and found mobs everywhere (which I enjoyed killing)! I think I found them red-handed when they were planning something against me.
If this were in survival, there would really be a challenge. I switched to survival to see if I could make it to the tower. I didn’t make it in the first attempt, or the second, but I did in the third.
Mobs plotting against me!
I was amazed at how the building was so small from a few blocks away, but amazingly tall when I got close to it!
View from the tower entrance
After entering, you find the lobby with empty chests. I like the implementation of the Minerals and Wool into the lobby, makes it look good.
After that, you climb up the stairs and go to each floor, each with different decorations and layout. Here are some of the floors and features:
Top floor- Nether portal
Which stairs should I take? Guess we’ll just find out!
Large hallways
Friendly people from the Kingdom
Many, many stairs!
What I think is a ballroom. Looks great!
Floor with chests
Wooden Fence Chandeliers! Nice!
Large Chest Chamber
Hiding in a corner...
Chest Chamber
Red floors
What I call the Grand Staircase!
Last floor before the roof! You can walk out the window and see from the edge!
All hail the Ender Portal!
This last challenge could be redesigned to make it even more challenging to enter! A player could simply break the bars and enter, not much of a challenge here...
After climbing many floors, we cross the Ender Portal to see this...
View from above the area you spawn in the Nether after crossing the portal
This is basically a bad thing to do for a player; you have to give the player a feeling that they accomplished something after climbing nearly 10 floors, breaking bars protecting a portal, battling mobs on the way up, etc. Maybe a nether build?
In conclusion, this is a great build although it should be given some extra work to make it better for the player. Structurally amazing, but not that much of a challenge when you’re in creative.
