Ever wanted to build something that would automate mining and other simple tasks in vanilla? Well this module does exactly that while giving you the freedom to invent and choose how you use it! Hope you enjoy!

    • Blast Miner Features:

      - Programmed by placement of redstone torch in inventory
    • - Can set direction and it will mine till it reaches the edge of loaded chunks and collect the blocks it mines
    • - Uses 2 levels of explosions separated by a small delay to increase mining efficiency of softer blocks then stone
    • - As a hopper unit you can set a filter to program what items it will pick up
    • - Has invulnerability and gives the items it drops invulnerability to explosions so they cannot be destroyed
    • - Will stop when it senses lava, water, or a drop in its path
    • - Can be put in passive mode and used on rails or in a stationary position as a block mining unit in machines and farms
    • - Unit can be decrafted by placing an iron pickaxe in the first slot (not mentioned in video I forgot)
    • - I purposely put this module on a slow clock to optimize performance for servers and low-end computers

We run a gamemode 4 group server. My vision for this module was a new mechanic that the different builders and youtubers there could use to invent with in their builds in survival mode. This module allows for the creation of systems that were previously only possible with mods like industrialcraft and allows a lot of creative freedom for building new redstone designs in survival mode. Many new things are possible with it installed!

I could of made it more complex and given more specific functionality, and I may in the future, but keeping it simple is sometimes more fun for users as it allows them to build with it and invent their own machines! At the end of the video I show 3 simple examples of automated machines I was able to invent using the miners in just about an hour. A whole lot more is possible! Please comment or post a video if you invent something cool with them! :)

This module is optimized for use on a server and on low-end computers. You can always put these things on faster clocks with smaller motion increments to make it look smoother, but that doesn't add anything to their usefulness so I chose to put it on a slower clock. Also the timings and item collection will not work properly unless you have some delay in the system. Keep this in mind if you download and tinker with the system.

This is the first installment in a new series I'm launching called the "Binary Bros" a series with myself and samuelInca that focuses on useful vanilla modules that can be installed into survival mode to enhance the game experience. We will probably not be doing any modules that just add cosmetic details like boss fights but instead focus on things that give you more cool tool to build with in survival mode. :)

To Install:

- Navigate to the video link and download either the world file I used in the video or the MCEdit schematic I exported
- If you use the MCEdit schematic simply install it in the spawnchunks somewhere

- Press the button to initialize the scoreboard objectives.
- The units should now be creatable anywhere in the overworld! Let me know if you have any issues or suggestions!

There are many ways this module can be extended in the future!
Let me know what you think of these ideas:

1. Controlling the motion with a renamed redstone torch in 1st slot rather than different slots.
2. recognizing certain blocks to stop on or change motion direction when the module passes over it allowing you to program motion circuits for the unit while you are away
3. Making it instead of taking a lot of TNT in the crafting recipe use up TNT placed in it slowly over time

All these are easily doable with a few changes, but we found this first design easier to use on our server. :)
