PROJECT EUCALYPTUS

This is our first ever Planet Minecraft project, known as Project Eucalyptus. Inspired by the likes of Gravi'team's Steampunk City and deerassassin0424's Medieval Wizard's Tower, we set out to create a fantasy city in the cliffs. We heavily incorporate water and light into our structure, and we hope this will get great reception and inspire many folk like ourselves to create huge structures.

The Backstory

Project Eucalyptus or 'Lucidus Montes', meaning Mount Clear or Light Mountain in Latin is a vast and beautiful world set in the mountains. It has a strong social hierarchy where the rich live in outside in the gorgeous mountainous terrain and the poor live inside the dirty, mob-ridden caves. The city is essentially an industry led town, with the booming industries such as mining and water dominate the economy. Transport is also a key feature in the city; pedestrians use the balconies or they can travel by trams across the city, balloons or even the huge airship. We hope to include a huge adventure into this, presenting both the rich and poor lifestyle and cultures of Project Eucalyptus.

Our Current Progress

We are currently at about 5% of the completed project. Currently, there are:

• 19 houses
  
• 1 water mill with operational facility
  
• 3 hot air balloons with 2 landing pads
  
• 1 bridge connecting to a wizard's tower
  
• One bat cave for the visitors (1.4.2 and up only)
  

We hope to include an airship, wind farm and fully operational monorail service. We also wish to create a vibrant residential area with 50+ houses. We are planning to build:

A blacksmith (1.4.2 and up only)

Can I join and help build? No, we are currently trying to keep costs down by keeping to a local server.

Can I play the world? Yes, you can download it but by no means can you incorporate it into your own custom map without permission.

How many people are building it? We currently have 3 people working.
