Feel free to stop by and say hi, or explore our server! 192.99.44.128:25702 v1.7.10

Make sure to keep checking the Update Logs for news and screenshots!

The Builders Coalition is a building group based in Minecraft Forums, started officially one year ago (4/5/2013). As a clan, we are more of a family than a group, conisting of several people from the Americas and Europe. Alone we can accomplish great things, but together we are best. We are The Builders Coalition.

Project: Midieval started from one of our members (jasminnancy) suggesting a medieval themed map, after a long run of attempts at a modern world. From the moment the map was created (yes, named Midieval by her), we have made huge amounts of progress in this massively growing world. Since the project started, we have gained some great builders to aid us on our journey.

But when will this project end? We have no clue at the moment. Right now we are building - altering the landscape, and molding the world into our dreamscape. Our world is but a skeleton at the moment - intricate and sturdy, but little to do with story for now. But it does not mean it lacks character, as the more we build the more the character shows through.

In order to get a following and recruit builders to aid us in our cause, we have released a demo - a snippet if you will - of our world. We chose this piece due to it's variety and beauty, and to give a taste of what the upcoming Beta release will feel like. Feel free to explore this area, give your feedback, and consider joining to help build our world.

If you feel you would be a great contribution to our project, feel free to drop by our forum and sign up: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1754105-the-builders-coalition-builders-wanted-a-branch-of-the-gse/

Please enjoy the pictures, don't forget to check update logs, and feel free to visit us!

Please give our "Readme" document a look! It has a very important message to all our fans and for those who would like to support us!

Update #34 - Well it's about time! : 06/01/2015 3:16:49 am6/01/15

Well, it's been a while. Not only have we taken a vacation, but we've been involving ourselves with multiple other projects. But it's not in vain: without further ado, I would like to announce a public opening of our server - we are now spectatable!

192.99.44.128:25702

Feel free to stop by and take a look around! And... I'll try and be better about updating this project here!

Update #33 - It's been a while. : 11/17/2014 8:53:56 pm11/17/14

I'll be the first to admit it - we've hit a rough spot in inactivity lately, but that will soon be a problem of the past! Quite a bit has changed already, and even more is to change soon enough!

We've decided to (as soon as the background parts of the server are done) open up the server to the public, letting everyone explore our masterpiece and see what we're made of. By doing this, we will be able to recruit some newer members and start focusing on completing Therim and it's surrounding areas because... we will then start our server as an official RPG server!

Obviously, there are many things that need to be implemented and changed first, but this is our road plan. And we plan to stick with it, instead of declare and you never hear from us again. Best part? It's going to be one amazing masterpiece in the end!

So, why not share some new screenshots?

Update #32 - Introducing: Lumsk! : 10/22/2014 10:59:34 pm10/22/14

Earlier on, I've mentioned that we are doing multiple cities (more than 3!!) with smaller towns and other structures. Well, we're keeping our promise, and today I introduce our newest city - Lumsk! The city is located north of Therim and takes a Nordic approach to the city. So far the city is massive and has plenty of buildings, but not too much in terms of roads or infastructure yet. But why not show a progress update for now!

The below content is copied from our forums, straight from MrKadmon, one of our Administrators.

"I wanted to give a small update on what I`ve been doing up north of Therim, the construction of the city of Lumsk. It started out as a vague solo-project but I`ve gotten some help from reesylou for roads and decorations and Dan has started working on what will be some massive docks/port facilities.

Now, as the city is a continuation of the project I was working on before joining TBC, a project in beta. The buildings are as such pre-fabricated, but pimped-up and re-blocked in some cases. These prefabs are now placed in a rough shape of a town. Interiors are not done, infrastructure is missing, terraforming and details and so on, remains. How the city will develop further on is hard to say atm. Some newer buildings have been added and more are needed. Any self-respecting city also need surrounding villages, farms, castles, civil buildings, oddities and more. The surrounding terrain makes for a metropolis if wanted. It will take some work. But who knows?

Update #31 - An Amount of Numbers : 09/27/2014 3:46:39 am9/27/14

I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who has downloaded any release of our map so far! The total numbers are rather breathtaking for a project that is so far from being done! But I thought I might want to share how it looks so far :D

Update #30 - A Few Days After : 09/25/2014 1:41:13 pm9/25/14

Update #29 - Beta 1 Release : 09/21/2014 2:36:13 pm9/21/14

The Builders Coalition is more than happy to announce our official Beta 1 release, marking a 20% waypoint in our project! This release includes our first town (Therim) along with a few extra goodies on the outskirts! We sure hope you enjoy this, so download it now and let us know what you think!!!

And if you want, check out the Donation Club located in the download! Every little bit helps!!

Happy Exploring!

Update #28 - The Last Day : 09/20/2014 3:46:58 pm9/20/14

Tomorrow will be the official unveiling of our Beta 1 release, and we're super excited to get it out! So I am going without a question today, as everything will be answered tomorrow. Enjoy the screenshot though!
undefined

Update #27 - Two Days : 09/19/2014 11:39:31 am9/19/14

Still big things happening, the release is on schedule! I would like to announce our newest Administrator, reesylou, for the Australia/Asia timezones! Congrats :)

How much work went into Therim?

Well, given that we've been working on Therim as our main project for almost 6 months, we've put a lot of work into it. But a lot of the work we've done isn't just adding things, but removing and readding things.

You see, we're perfectionists. If we don't like how it looks in the end, we will redo it to try to get the right look and feel. In fact, what's the first wall of the city has become bland in our eyes, so that will soon enough get a redo! But hey - it's all for the better, and it's because we strive for the best quality.

Finally, here's another screenshot!

Update #26 - 3 Days To Go : 09/18/2014 4:02:18 pm9/18/14

undefinedOnly a few days to go, and its getting exciting! However will not be posting a question today as I got stuck with my tablet today. Still, here's a screenshot for you!

Update #25 - Four Days Left : 09/17/2014 2:00:30 pm9/17/14

Today is an important day for us - we will be ceasing any development on our project until release, later today. These last few days will be a cleanup day for us, enabling us to get our "clipboard projects" and "floating wool" out of the way for your enjoyment!

After Beta release, what will we work on next?

The Beta 1 release focuses primarily on Therim, our first city. Granted, the city is far from complete, though we have plenty done already. Although I cannot say for everyone, we will probably end up focusing on branching out - taking a vacation from our beloved city. Why?

When you get stuck in the same place for a long time, things start to get old and stale. And stale is the last thing we want to feature in our builds! So, why not take a quick break from Therim and start on other cities, using different styles and a change of scenerey overall? Most likely, we will end up branching off either north to the nordic city, or west to the arabic city, although there are no designations stating that's exactly where we will head to.

But fear not! We will continue work on Therim always, and it WILL get completed. Just not a priority at the moment. And if that doesn't make you happy, maybe a screenshot will help :D
undefined

Update #24 - A school week away - literally. : 09/16/2014 1:00:44 pm9/16/14

So there are only 5 days left until our Beta 1 release, and stoked is an understatement for how ready we are for this! This release is going to be great, and my only regret so far is not being able to release it sooner!

After this release, how often will this project get updated with downloadable releases?

Well, here's the thing: We will only update through normal means (releases on PMC) if there are any major updates (such as new cities nearly done). Obviously, we want everyone to stay happy, but we feel if we constantly release updates that the "new" feeling would go away. Plus, putting out a release is actually a lot of work.

However, there's a good part to this too! I've been working on an official Donator Club for our project, which enables us to give back to our supporters! To be honest, I really don't like asking for money from other people, but sadly it's needed. All money would go towards the project and our server - nothing to our personal selves. But if you guys can help us out, we want to do everything we can to help you out too!

So in the donator club, we currently have 3 price rankings, which depending on where you decide to give, you get everything up to it. And one of those rewards (as a thank you) is a semi monthly (every two weeks) unpolished project release - emailed straight to you!

So don't worry about the releases - we will keep things updated, but they might take a while. However if you have an extreme desire to get the latest releases possible, think about donating - in the end, everyone wins anyways :D

Speaking of everyone winning, did I mention we still have screenshots before release? HODOR!? Bring in the picture...

Update #23 - Release = Week - 1 : 09/15/2014 2:04:18 pm9/15/14

I'm in Stats class, so my thoughts are more "mathematical" than normal. Anyways, we have 6 days until release!

What themes should I expect to see in this release?

Great question actually! Therim is a unique town that takes inspiration strongly from midieval Europe and later Nordic civilizations, but in a few areas you can see a slight blend of other areas. But this is the point. This city is a "centerpiece" between other cities across the "soon-to-be" world that we're creating. To the north, you'll find the start of a mostly nordic based city, and if you venture far enough to the west you'll find a much more arabic area.

Of course, there will be other cities than the three mentioned, but those are what we're willing to say so far!

And, the screenshot of the day! Happy Building!
undefined

Update #22 - One Week Left : 09/14/2014 1:56:47 pm9/14/14

What should I expect in the Beta 1 world?

- Therim (the city we've been posting of)
- A few smaller villages
- And more - though I won't tell you!

But, as promised, a screenshot!
undefined

Update #21 - On the 8th Day... : 09/13/2014 1:45:01 pm9/13/14

Progress is continuing as it should and builds are getting finished up and polished! Of course, Therim will not be finished 100% for the Beta 1 release, but I think it will be more than enough to get everyone excited to see what happens in the future!

So, What's going to be included in the Beta 1 download?
Well, here's a list so far:
- The map (of course)
- A list of required/recommended mods
- A few glimpses of lore for our world so far
- A donator's information page
- Creative Commons Liscense
- Screenshots
- Project Portfolio
- A special thank you note for supporting our project

There may be more added, there may be some things conglomerated into fewer items, but so far those are the contents you can expect to see in the Beta 1 release!

Keep following us to get the latest information! And if there are any questions, of course feel free to ask!

And as promised, here is the daily countdown screenshot:

Update #20 - 9 Days Left : 09/12/2014 6:29:55 pm9/12/14

We have nine days left until release, and as promised here is our first (of many) screenshot! Keep watching to get the latest updates about what's going on!

Update #19 - Beta 1, 10 Day Countdown : 09/11/2014 12:52:59 pm9/11/14

Hello everyone! We've been rather busy in the Builders Coalition this past week, as we are wrapping up for our Beta 1 release on the 21st, 10 days from now.

We have decided that our cutoff date for adding new things to our project will be the 17th, where we would then copy the world and prepare for a final release to give you the best experience so far! We are certainly hoping you enjoy it, and we can't wait to hear what you think!

As another surprise, starting tomorrow I will be releasing a screenshot per day of the world you will soon be able to explore - this is a little gift to all of you who have been following us! Enjoy!

Update #18 - Beta 1 Release Date : 09/03/2014 12:13:17 am9/03/14

The Builders Coalition is proud to announce that the release date for "Project Midieval" is set for release on 9/21/2014 (US).

We have been making plenty of progress, though the city will most likely not have everything completed like we had hoped. But instead of extending the time period for you to get your hands on it, we decided to show you everything we've done so far to get your opinions and love!

Stay tuned, as we will continue updating towards the Beta 1 release!

Update #17 - Updated Render! : 08/27/2014 11:18:28 pm8/27/14

Almost a month ago, I released an overhead render of our current focus city. Today, I am releasing an updated area of the city - our Financial District! So much has changed (and there is still left to work on) since then, I feel that it's more than appropriate to feed the tease that our project can be! So here it goes!

Happy Building!

Update #16 - Our Dynmap : 08/21/2014 2:45:05 am8/21/14

It's been a while since our last update, but work has continued! To show though, we've decided to give out our dynmap to the public! Check it out: 162.244.165.121:2628/#

Update #15 : 08/04/2014 12:31:31 pm8/04/14

We now have an official name for our city.... "Therim"! Congrats to MrKadmon for submitting the winning name!

And for a quick update, here's a render of our current mines area!

Update #14 - Last Day to Vote & Good Status Update! : 07/31/2014 11:47:22 am7/31/14

Just as a reminder, today is the LAST day to vote on the city name project! Link is on the project description!

Also, our team has been making excellent progress with our current project, and we now have an excellent picture to show for it. This picture was made yesterday intended to be an overhead map to help people figure out where they are. It turned out nicer than expected however... Anyways, enjoy!

Update #13 - An Update from Andy! : 07/29/2014 1:39:07 pm7/29/14

Update Snippets Taken From MrKadmon

Progress has been really good as of late, a lot of new members have contributed a lot of good work. We are on schedule for the September release at the current rate.

Anyways, where do we go from here?

With the walls pretty much being drawn up that city has gotten its rough shape.

The city, in its current form, encompasses 9 different districts, including the castle. The city itself is very different from one side to the other, with the cathedral acting as a sort of buffer between the west and eastside.

Western Part – Travelers District, Poor District /mines, Castle, Port

The western part of the city is as of now closest to being completed. The poor district, mine-area, Travelers District and Port are all but a few builds short of being structurally complete. Now the port is a mess as of his moment and is being terraformed iirc. I don`t spend much time around here so I`m not sure as to who is building what, but it still looks great.

These are updated screens, some space still remain to be built on. And I have a strange desire to populate the port/trvlr. area a bit more. But, it will have to wait. We have to focus on September for now.

Poor district/mines left - Port Right Water gone because of terraforming.

Living district

The Home of the dreaded pink blocks, and a district with a lot of interior work remaining. Structurally its about 90% complete. The remaining 10% is exterior work I have somehow neglected. I am spending more time now towards getting the builds fully completed. I have even made a routine of doing the occasional interior design. Conquest makes for some great textures. It is however a gargantuan job. And we really, really need to get up to speed on this one.

Academic District

A lot of building remains here but for my part I`ve resumed work at this district. There is still space for builds as seen on the picture. The district will ideally have a mix of living quarters, alchemical laboratories, university building and such. Blane did an excellent shop here yesterday and Dan`s Dorms are finally being worked on again. Latest member miyuo /baneofbalzaamon has taken it upon himself to make the main hall of the university. Exciting times indeed.

The area has taken on a slight steampunk-feel for some reason.

Market district

The are has been thoroughly built the past weeks, there is some open space left on the eastern part, perhaps for some buildings or further market-stalls. The area in general needs interior work and details. Very near completion.

As seen, the space in the right (east) towards the port and cathedral plaza needs work

Financial District

Now this is where the action has been the latest week and the district has gone from a single bank to what looks to become a proper financial haven. A lot of our newest members have contributed here, to many for me to name.

Natey has done good work with this, the posh end of town. A clock tower tells of great importance, and wealth.

The area in front of the bank is bound for a proper plaza. Space is fast becoming a scarcity, who would have thought?

Here it is just a matter of continuing. The ditrict ont he right is the newly founded rich/middlecalss district. Hopefully it will continue to expand towards the wall and fill the area. I am staying to the left. Merging the academinc and financial sectors. (...)

Farmlands

We had some major farms to the north of the city. Member Dan started some work here to give the farms a more organic and natural look. A good idea yet we are all awaiting the follow-through ;)

And as to what I have been doing this last week? Well I`ve mostly been on the server doing everything at once. But I`ve focused on the financial areas, larger builds, interiors, repairs and detail. Oh.. and I`ve been working on a little something for after September ;)

Some buildings and a tower

Schadefreude heights

And on leaving, thank you everyone for making this city come alive, new as old, together we are making something epic :P

The city is close to being completed and the need for new buildings diminishes for this city. But that does not mean that we are nearly done, not even close. We have many more projects coming up. After the city, we do the world.

A couple of nice skylines

The floating "island" will be gone by september, rest assured

=======================================
To repeat, this was the majority of a clan update that one of our Administrators, Mr Kadmon, recently posted on our Thread! I figured this would be a good update for everyone to see, so why not put it up here.

Also - deadline for voting ends August 31st, 2014!

Update #12 - Time to Start Voting! : 07/26/2014 3:35:08 pm7/26/14

Well, the submission time has officially ended, and out of all the names recieved, the top three have been chosen. They are:

Sthenos
Therim
Ashenford

You are able to put in your vote here.

Voting starts - get our vote in today! Thanks :D

Update #11 - Contest Reminder and Quick Q&A : 07/24/2014 2:01:46 pm7/24/14

The final deadline for City name submissions lands on 7/25/2014 (tomorrow). The taking of names will officially close 11:55 PM PST. Get your submissions in! It's a great chance to get your own custom build included in our first Beta release!

-----------------

On other notes, we've been making lots of progress, recruited quite a few new (and good might I add) members to the clan! In fact, we now also have someone working on our own special OST for the project! It's going to be good. Previews will be put up so you know what to look forward to!

Regarding donations, we will wait to release the official donator page (with benefits) until after our first beta release in September. However if you would still like to donate and know the benefits for doing so, let me know and I will send you the information!

-----------------

Q&A Mini!

Q: What are the overall goals for this upcoming release (Beta 1)?

A: Well, the we want to release Beta 1 as the first city complete and finished (or as close to finished as can be per the deadline). It will have the map released as  a world with no NPCs or additional gameplay elements outside of the realm of standard minecraft. This release is really just another demo - the world still a WIP, but enough done to let people see what it's like. There will be plety to adventure around in and explore (secrets too!), so I'm not really worried about not including any gameplay aspects.
On another note however, we do plan on trying to release a second map (in the same release) with examples of how the gameplay would be - a small section of the map with NPCs and other gameplay additions to show a quick view of the end product.

Q: What is the current status of the city itself?

A: Actually we still have quite a bit of work left to do, though not nearly as much as the last time I posted - we've been making some excellent progress actually. But there are still plenty of empty buildings that have yet to be decorated, and a few more empty spots of land that could use some structures before we can really call this area "finished". But maybe it would make a little more sense in stats?
(For Builds Only - does not include internal designing)

Port/Traveler's District: 85%
Market: 75%
Mines District: 55%
Living District: 90%
Academic District: 40%
Financial District: 15%

So sure - theres still plenty left to be done, but as a good example, the market has grown from 40% to 75% in a little over a week - plenty of time to work still.

Q: Who can join - how?

A: On our front page of our PMC release, we have a link to our clan thread. Anyone who is over 13 is eligible to join. Who would we like to join? Actually, anyone who wants to help with the project in some way or another! This includes, but is not limited to: Builders, Internal Decorators, programmers, artists, musicians, etc. Do you need to be a super-skilled builder? No, but we can always learn to become one!
==================
That's if for now. Happy Building!

Update #10 - Contest Update : 07/18/2014 4:29:26 pm7/18/14

So far we have had a handful of submissions for the Name Contest - some pretty good ones, might I add! And I have set a deadline!

Submissions for the Name Contest end on July 25thwith the final winner chosen on August 1st!

So if you haven't submitted names yet, please do while we still have time! This is going to be an awesome project - wouldn't it be neat if you were the one who named a city!?

Happy Building :D

Hey! Actually our world is currently built for 1.7.10+, so there may be errors involved (I'm not sure about backwards compatability from 1.7.10-1.7.2. However, the creator of the no fire spread/no ice melt mod states that it works perfectly for 1.7.10.

Maybe try chaning your MC version?

For some reason, any mods for versions other than 1.7.2 won't work when I put them in the mods folder. The only way I can get mods in any other version is if I use an installer.

Okay - so I take it you're using the vanilla launcher and not some third party one like Magic Launcher?

Also, have you tried using 1.7.10?

Yes, I'm using the regular launcher. And I've tried 1.7.5, 1.7.9, 1.7.10 and 1.8 and unless I use an installer, none of the mods show up there, even when I put the correct mod version in the mods folder.

So, What's going to be included in the Beta 1 download?
Well, here's a list so far:
- The map (of course)
- A list of required/recommended mods
- A few glimpses of lore for our world so far
- A donator's information page
- Creative Commons Liscense
- Screenshots
- Project Portfolio
- A special thank you note for supporting our project

There may be more added, there may be some things conglomerated into fewer items, but so far those are the contents you can expect to see in the Beta 1 release!

Update 11

The final deadline for City name submissions lands on 7/25/2014 (tomorrow). The taking of names will officially close 11:55 PM PST. Get your submissions in! It's a great chance to get your own custom build included in our first Beta release!

-----------------

On other notes, we've been making lots of progress, recruited quite a few new (and good might I add) members to the clan! In fact, we now also have someone working on our own special OST...

Go to our update logs to continue reading!
That looks amazing! I love the details :)
May i ask what resource/texture pack you'r using on the second picture (if you are)?
Keep up the epic work! (I diamonded)

Hey - thanks for the kind words and Diamond :D Actually, we use Conquest at the moment for our builds, as it gives us great meta-data to work with!

If you'd like, feel free to apply at our forum thread - we can always use more builders if you're up to it!

Ahh.. Its so good to see our work being shared :)

Nice work lloyd.

I just have to chip in emphasize the fact that this tiny, little map demo is just a minute fraction of the total map. The changes to the city this last month has been imense. The scope, scale and ambition has justifably escalated rather quickly :D. Given our latest progress I would say we`re on a fast-track to creating something beautiful and epic.

And regarding that, if anyone feel like they want to join us in our quest for epicness, look us up at

www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1754105-the-builders-coalition-accepting-applications/

And check back in september, it will be worth it :)
