The Island has gained some buildings, and a semblance of government. Its ran by a few men, known as the coratels. They are not without contention, there is also a rebellion who are bent on over throwing them.

now that the story has taken a turn, the new buildings include
An underground 'Hobb' where lower class citizens live and shop.
a row of apartments, and blacksmith
a slaughter house
a re-education center
a gadgeteer's building
docks
a factory
and a port authority.
