The R.M.S. Aberdeen was a (fictional) Scotland-class ocean liner built for British Yellough Line. It was made in a Liverpool shipyard from 1898 to 1901. Her maiden voyage was on September 9, 1901, sailing from Liverpool to New York City, although making a stop in Cherbourg on the way. In WWI she was converted into a troop carrier for the Royal Navy, carrying hundreds of soldiers at a time. In 1917, she was attacked by a German destroyer and suffered heavy damage. She was put in drydock for major repairs.
When the war ended, she was to be scrapped, but Yellough Line payed the British government 2 million pounds (about 132 million pounds in today's money) to remove the ship from drydock and go back to Yellough Line. In 1921, she resumed service as an ocean liner for 4 more years. In 1925, Yellough Line made the decision to scrap her, due to her being outdated and the economic crisis in Britain after the war. She was sent to a scrapyard in 1926, and was completely scrapped by 1930.
