That's possible thanks to OpenSteetMap data, where all the buildings and roads polygons can be exported to layers that can be used in Worldpainter

All the buildings currently have a fixed height of 4 blocks, please consider this feature as highly experimental. I'm working on giving them a real height in the next projects

The position of biomes is entirely based on real land cover data, as done in the previusly released maps, but in addition to land cover data Open Street Map data was also used to get the best possible coastlines, rivers and streams


Map info:

Anchorage is located in the U.S. state of Alaska and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful glaciers in the world. In fact, there are 60 glaciers within 50 miles of Anchorage. Alaska has the nation’s greatest concentration of glaciers; approximately 100,000 of them cover nearly 30,000 square miles.

The Columbia Glacier is one of the most notable glaciers near Anchorage. It descends from an icefield 3,050 meters (10,000 feet) above sea level, down the flanks of the Chugach Mountains, and into a narrow inlet that leads into Prince William Sound in southeastern Alaska.

• Open Street Map data for CITIES, ROADS, waypoints, coastlines, rivers, streams and beaches positioning - rasterization to 5m resolution
