YOU WILL NEED TEH WEDGE WORLDGEN EDITOR MOD, BY MOOGLEMAN, OTHERWISE THE NEW CHUNKS ARE VANILLA SPAWNED AND NO LONGER EXTREME.

When I say Extreme Mountains, I mean it! Spawned way high above the cloud line, and increasing your range to build all teh way to the cloud line, and above, when on jsut land, these extreme mountains really are to the extreme levels!

Bottom line, I finally found a mod which actually changes what spawns in a minecraft world, concerning the levels and chances of ores and terrain. So, when you see extreme hills, they are not very tall hills, like they look like in minecraft, but giant fricken mountain ranges that are filled to teh brim with ores!

Now, don't get me wrong here, you still have to go mining and all that shwaz, but, legitametly spawned ores. But, I kept in mind to keep everything mroe legit looking. You still have to dig REALLY far down to get diamond and redstone, as well as lapis and gold. I do not recommend adding in any mods which include new ores, for then you will have dig even further jsut to get to them.

Here are all teh levels for each key object, like ores, dungeons, and even lakes of lava and water. Now, keep in mind that the mountains can spawn as high as the max height, so the levels are legit now!

Tis all that spawns in a chunk.

Water lake: (Y = 0) to (Y = 435) Max 8 per chunk

Lava Lake: Refer to water lakes. max 12 per chunk

Dungeons: (Y = 0) to (Y = 512) [max height] max 18 per chunk

gravel blobs: (Y = 0) to (Y = 434) max 18 per chunk

Dirt Blobs (not counting surface): (Y = 0) to (Y= 512) Max 28 per chunk

coal ore: (Y = 0) to (Y =498) max 34 per chunk - size = 24 max

Iron ore: (Y = 0) to (Y = 498) max 28 per chunk - size = 12 max

gold ore: (Y = 0) to (Y = 64) max 7 per chunk - size = 12 max

Redstone ore: (Y = 0) to (Y = 64) max 9 per chunk - size = 11 max

Diamond ore: (Y = 0) to (Y = 32) Max 4 per chunk - size = 10 max

Lapis ore: (T = 0) to (Y = 45) max 9 per chunk - size = 14 max

Any more and they'd literally spam every cave and block with ores. No kiddin. I test these, make holes with TNT all the way to bedrock and find a metric ton of diamond, lapis, gold, and redstone at their levels when it's even slightly too high. I provide to you the mountains and plains, even forests of these maps.

Sea level = (Y = 101)

plains are no longer flat, but hilly.

I have yet to see a desert, still.

Tehre are still caves.

You may have trouble finding the ocean at all, sometimes.

I will provide links here, and not a single world, but many.

Extreme Mountains

Forest (Soon to come)

Taiga (Soon to come)

Jungle

Icy Plains

Plains

Swampland

Ocean

desert (Soon to come)

Mushroom Island ( hell nah, Haven't even found one in my own worlds at all)

Requests (5 worlds left)

I do not know if villages spawn. I do know that caves spawn. I do not know how deep the oceans are, I do know that you would drown trying to float down. I do not know how big a chunk is, I do know that this all so fricken awesome!

Installation

unpack the zipped files to folders.

open up your .minecraft folder through roaming (START, search: %appdata%) and open your saves folder.

Copy/move teh unzipped world file into your saves file. Close everything down and run minecraft.

I do not know if the spawned terrain will be spawned as it is AFTER you travel away from what has already spawned. Meaning, the newly generated chunks may or may not be as tall as teh already generated chunks.

I am, after all, using a mod.

This mod to be exact:

WEDGE: THE WORLDGEN EDITOR

All I really am doing is using the advanced settings to create bigger worlds for those who tire of the usual, un-epic version of minecraft, or sometimes think it is too small. After messing with the algebra and geometry that is used in the mod, I have to say, tis very advanced, even for me. It's jsut trial and error for me now.

Additional Notes

I once played a world that had a giant ocean spanning over 1000 blocks wide. Deleted it because when I dug down on a small island, there was an entire wall of diamond ore, gold ore, iron ore, lapis ore, and redstone ore. All in one cave, one wall, and lining half the shaft.

Took me a few minutes to figure out that it didn't work in the mods folder.

I claim nothing but the fact that I actually am doign this for you guys. The mod is in no way owned by me, or anyone I know. All rights to Moogleman.

When getting around while in survival mode, I realized something very obvious and helpful. You will have to make bridges to get around quickly. It's not too bad to the point that it has very very steep inclines, but it has enough hills and dips that a wood bridge of one block wide would help to get around over ~15 block wide valleys.

I noticed that when I generated my first world, it had a FEW cool mountains (from original minecraft) And that half those mountains was solid marble from teh redpower mod.

I spent five minutes trying to find a mod which made the saves about three blocks wider everywhere, but found nothing.
