can you make a tutorial on how the keys work because i was a bit lost while trying the world out

it's delay based. each key sends two signals, when the first signal reaches a shift register it makes a pulse in the register and when the second signal reaches the register it locks the pulse in place, each place the pulse can stop at triggers a specific character to be displayed. hope that helped!
