Wouldn't it be easier to hook up an XY Decoder with binary inputs and just either +1,+0: +0,-1: -1,+0:0,+1? That would eliminate all the complicated stuff in the back and if done right be a lot faster!

I made something like that in my wireless signals tutorial map, it has a good quality screen (no spaces between the pixels), it is wireless, it has turn on/off button and 8 buttons to move the mouse - eight, left, up, down, and diagonally.
