This is a completely redstone sudoku game. The only command blocks I'm using are for the control panel and to notify the user when a certain action is completed. I don't think it's worth spending time on wiring everything up and it makes the machine a little bit faster and user-friendly.

The first game is preloaded, but if you want to you can set up your own.

So is the gray just the encoder for the display or is there something I'm not seeing?
Also will there be a way to check if the input is correct?
If the answer to 2 is yes, then will you do a 9 line by 9 line by 9 line (diagonal) to add up to 45 or AND gates?

If you are talking about gray wool, then it basically cuts off the signal with pistons because when a number is pressed the signal goes through the whole machine and the pistons unlock only the the module that is selected. And no this time its not that advanced, you will have to type in the starting numbers and check if its correct yourself. :) But i may upgrade it some time in the future tho.

yea, I don't want to use command blocks on all of the logic, but ill use them on the keyboard so the game would be a bit faster and the device would look a bit cleaner.
