This is my 1:1 scale speculative reconstruction of hadrians library in athens as it might of appeared in 132 A.D. This was described as one of the most luxurious buildings in Athens during the roman period and was one of emperor hadrians largest contributions to the city during his reign.The library lasted untill 267 A.D. when the Library was destroyed during the raid of Heruli. its ruins were later incorporated into the late roman wall and 3 successive churches.Its ruins are still very well preserved in athens today and theres still a church standing in what used to be the gardens.

Since theres very little information on what the inside actually looked like and i wanted to show it in all of its described glory i decided to model its colors after hadrians villa and the library section on the interior of the library of Celsius because of how similar the floorplans are,the link to the hadrians villa project video i was referencing is here
