S.S Nostalgia is a custom paddle steamer that I designed and built

Built in 1859 for the Clifton Atlantic Line (made up line) needing ships for their shorter voyages, she was built in Scotland at John Brown & Company under the name S.S Gunner, her hull number was 96. When she entered service in 1861 she saw massive success in her short regional voyages and sometimes sailed to France on a few of her longer voyages, her career was very uneventful until the beginning of WWI when she ran ashore after trying to avoid a mine while heading to France, after that incident she was left there until the end of the war. She was planned to be scrapped but saved by a last minute bid from Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) and was kept in preservation, after a while she had once again been forgotten about until 1945 when P&O fixed her up and put her back into use to bring troops home from France and Germany, after this endeavor she was turned into a floating museum and used as one until 1967 when she was bought once again by Clifton Atlantic Line (now just named Clifton Shipping Line) and restored and used for short ferry rides in the style of the late 1800's to show her passengers what it was like on a ship back then. After 1 year of ferry tours she started to show her age and in 1969 had new boilers, engines, paddles and steering gear installed however in 1988 with the Airbus A300 entering service, Air Travel was hotter than ever and Clifton were not making good profits and were forced to sell Gunner to P&O Cruises and she was put in storage and just forgotten about. She was left to rot until 1999 she was taken out of storage and restored to working order, having new interiors fitted but still retaining her steam engines, she was renamed to the S.S Nostalgia because of all her rich history, she was put back into service in 2002, she continued at P&O until 2018 when she was sold to A/S Oplandske Dampskipsselskap in Denmark where she still does weekly ferry rides to this day she turned 164 years old in July of 2023 and holds so much rich history and amazing memories within her.
