Greetings and Salutations, Ladies, Gentlemen and Everybody else!
About:
In today's publication, I'd like to present you all: S.S. Tchaikovsky, a transatlantic workinghorse for my Independent Steamship Company (Independent Line) fleet.
Upon entering service in 1890, Tchaikovsky was both the biggest and the fastest ship in the fleet. Her role was to directly replace the older Seraphim-Class in the lines plan to renew their transatlantic service. She was to operate mainly on the Norway-to-Canada route, and did so for several years with great reliability.
In 1892, she also became the first Independent Liner used for pleasure cruises during the winter season.
In 1900 however, her tranquil career came to a screeching halt, when she was requisitioned as a transport ship by the Royal Navy. The following years until mid-1902, she spend her time supporting the British efforts in the Second Anglo Boer War, after which she was so worn out that costly reparings had to be done.
Her last years, as did her first, remained quiet, with her switching between the summertime transatlantic service and wintertime pleasure cruises.
Disaster struck in 1907, when she lost both her rudder and propeller in a storm. Three of her lifeboats and 63 lifes were lost in an up following mutiny and it took her almost two weeks, until she finally stranded near Bar Harbor. All remained on board were saved. Regarding the ship however, plans were made on how to rescue her, but after a second storm had swiped the area shortly afterwards, gone with it was the wreck. Never to be seen again.
This ship can and is supposed to be seen as a direct follow up to my S.S. Seraphim, which is also the main reason for the two ships featuring the exact same hull. Feel free to compare ^^
Trivia:
Though our collaboration has ended over the duration of this project, I'd like to thank Axandres & Company Shipyard most humbly for hosting this and all the other projects of mine.
Futhermore, I'd like to thank Axandres 274 for providing me with renders.

I hope you enjoy my projects, thank you really much for paying me a visit!
