A reconstruction of the southwest palace at Nineveh, the ancient capital city of the Neo-Assyrian Empire. This palace, which was the second largest Assyrian palace after Sargon II's stupidly huge abode at Dur-Sharrukin, was built by king Sennacherib in 703 BC. I have recreated it at 1:1 scale and with as much realism as I could. The real palace is not fully excavated and the colors with which it was painted are not known, so I made up pretty much all of it apart from the floor plan. Balage Balogh's art on the archaeology illustrated website was the biggest inspiration for the whole style and colors used in this build.
Having the biggest building done, I might just build the entire citadel at Nineveh, so maybe expect that to come out sometime in the future. Anyway, if you're a big history nerd like me, I think you'll find this build pretty cool. Have fun exploring!
