I like to build down, more than up, so I decided on a Fallout-esque "Vault".
Entering through a suspicious-looking mountain labelled "Serenity Valley Mine" lies the hidden entrance.
UPDATE-2 (16/06/2011)
I spent a long time having to move the Vault to a new map (the seed was "Glacier")
I feel the outside actually looks good now.
It is fully functional without mods, but pistons are used in one, small place.
[If you find the cabin, just destroy the bookcase (if you don't have pistons mod)]
I've added a couple of secrets, there's a secret in the excavation shafts.
Also in the foundation level.
It makes no difference what texture pack you use. "Last Days" looks good, but it messes up in the VR rooms.
(I prefer Jolicraft or Retrocraft)
I also added a secret entrance/exit.

Added a lot more to this map, including hydro-pumps, lava engines, hydroponics, etc.
Also, If you're slightly clever, you'll find the VIP bunker. :P

I like that idea. I think I might do a "sky" facility that is for people who escaped the burning earth. or to quote firefly "earth that was", like a baron earth.
