Hi, I'm a little confused, did you make an English 17th century ship or did you make the Dutch 7 Provinces as showed on the fifth photo?

I am looking for a 7 Provinces ship I can build in the survival server, of around 65 block high and 85 block wide (does that match with your ship?)

It's the Seven Provinces with a British colour scheme and French cabins and beakhead.

Thanks for your answer. But do you still have the map without the English/French mix in it? Just like the 5th photo shows.

How do you get the water to be dark on Chunky without loading conquest?

I used a custom water colour (under the water settings).

The seven provinces would have been Michiel de Ruyters ship not?

What rate is it? I'm guessing somewhere between a fourth or second rate

Looking grand, sir. It's good to see that you're still turning out top notch vessels. :)

There were certainly some very beautiful ships around in the latter part of the 17th century.

From shipbuilder to shipbuilder: This is crazy! Genious design, I'm normally not happy with the 17th century ships in minecraft but this ship is far beyond what I normally see. :)

Btw. Nice hull shape, not many gets that right on 17th century ships.

(if you would like to, please go check out my 19th century ships and tell me what you think, feedback from a builder like you would really help me)

Thanks. The Dutch Republic flag actually included a light blue stripe, rather than the modern dark blue.

Well, tis a great looking ship. From here, on 1280x720 frames. But it's quite another story looking ingame...  Now you say that it's based on the seven provinces, not knowing exactly how hardcore you wanted to be wtih that, it does not have the right # of guns, and I'm a bit puzzled with your choice to have 4 spaces between guns..  The mix of hull materials do look very good, again on stills like this but the wood logs in the hull for example I don't agree with...

Construction wise, The general hull shape is well done, but it can still be more realistic, the hull isn't tall enough, meaning the hold should have a larger floor - ceiling height increasing general hull "height"...  Also I'm still bothered by the fact that you don't do interiors... :/  No comment on masts / rigging / sails as they're all well done, except for a note that you could probably attach the glass -> fence in a better way.  Other than that I think you're too lazy and cutting corners frankly :/ especially with the copy pasted flags :( Hovering lanters in the stern etc...

I do want to know btw, now that you're using conquest, was it a concious choice not to use the metadatas?
I'm glad to see you takin on some larger vessels, would be cool to see yet another ship of the line but maybe 100 years later than this one :)

Thanks for your comment. I actually used a plan to make this ship, so details like the hull shape/height shouldn't be an issue, although I may have modified some lengths by a block or two. As for the cannons, I decided to go for a 4 block spacing because that seemed to be most like the real version. I also only added two guns at the back, rather than four, because of spacing issues. I could improve many details, as you say. The flags were quickly done and the cabin can still be improved. I could also add some basic interior. I don't use metadatas because I don't build on a server, which is a shame. Thanks for your advice again.

Aye with the meta, that is quite annoying, it is possible though to do it in Sp with WE but a heck of a pain... as I did with my latest upload. For the canons, 3 space between would accomplish the correct number of guns and still keep the proper scale imo, and I asume you've used this model as your main source; upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/72/Model_Zeven_Provincien.jpg
