This is a simple house design. It takes up a 5x8 area and is composed of mostly stairs and half slabs. The effect is nice, giving the glass panes a bay window look. The interior is functional, with decorative trapdoors for "shelving", but also helps "hide" a possible basement entry.
One caveat to the design is that the exterior corner from which the bed resides will need a solid block with potter/plant to prevent you from waking up outside of the house. I typically opt for the grass block bordered by trapdoors topped with a potted plant.
Materials are as follows:
18 oak logs
17 wool (color of choice)
4 Trap doors
1 door
4 glass blocks (color of choice)
1 bed
1 crafting table
2 furnaces
1 chest
4 torches
3 stone blocks
2 spruce blocks
12 spruce steps
16 stone steps
27 spruce half-slabs
3 carpet (color of choice)
Now these materials are just what have been used in the images; feel free to use whatever you'd like...
The images are a sequence in layers. Ground level to the top of the building in top-down cross section. If there are questions you have leave them in the comments section; I will do my best to answer them.
I hope to provide a video of it's contruction soon.
Enjoy.
