YOU ARE A SMALL TOWN GUY. A FACTORY JUST WENT UP NEAR YOUR TOWN AND IT THREATENS YOUR WAY OF LIFE. YOU MUST DESTROY IT.

IN THIS MAP YOU WILL FIGHT MONSTERS, PURCHASE ITEMS FROM SEVERAL SHOPS AND USE TNT FOR JUSTICE! THE STORES ARE COMMANDBLOCK OPERATED AND USE XP AS CURRENCY!

I like the map, but I have 2 problems:
-Story development:
--Who is the antagonist?
--What are the "Bad things"?
--Why are you the chosen hero?
and
-Length. It was just really short.

If you can improve on these, you'll be great at adventure maps. Shoutout: MrMcAwesumz says: COAL TRAIN BABY!

thanks for the input i really do appreciate the constructive criticism. it was my shortest map yet and had the least of a story line. to me this map was more of a test. it was my first more open world type of adventure and i reached a level with command blocks and red stone i have never been too. i wanted to see how people would respond to it to see if maybe i should go in this direction of maps as apposed to my zombie killer I and II. (although zk1 didnt turn out very well) maybe play zombie killer II and tell me what direction you think i should take? :)

If you want to make an open world adventure map, be sure to make it non-linear. Two straightforward quests and xp shops don't cut it for an open feel. Next time, be sure to add side quests, more dungeon zones, and maybe a small survival aspect, such as a designated mining cave or giving the player a large map to work with. I would give the player a map at the start which gives you locations of towns, dungeons, etc. I'll get to ZKII when I can, I'm currently pre-occupied with school and a couple of maps that people are waiting for me to finish. BTW, If you like to make linear maps, be sure to check out my "The Labs: The Consumed Pt. 1" map. It only has one combat sequence, but it is heavily story based, and people really like it like that. Not saying that combat is a bad thing, I just gave people a new take on adventure maps by giving mine an extremely dark feel.
