You, a vampire hunter, have been summoned to Wygol Village. The townsfolk have been disappearing at night. Word is a Vampire Lord has set home in the old Bernhard castle.
Snowvania is a work in progress for an adventure map. There's still much to do, but since there's quite a lot of buildings, tunnels, traps and secrets already in place, I figured some people might enjoy it anyway.
Features
- Wygol Village: A small village complete with an inn, a smithy and a plenty of secrets (and some traps!) to discover.
- Wygol's Fort: Next to the village there's a small fort with switches to open and close its doors. The fort is fully furnished and comes with a kitchen, an armory and a secret way out to the gold mine in case the zombies overrun the place.
- Fast travel to the Vampire Castle: take the path to the blue cross past the village. You can take a train directly to the Vampire Castle.
- The Vampire Castle: Currently only the main hall is complete. The main hall alone is as big as a castle, though! In construction.
- The Shadow Fort: Next to the Vampire's Castle there's a small fort. Lacks most furnishing, but otherwise complete.
- Traps: It's not wise to walk around without minding your surroundings. Even in places you'd think are safe or pose no risk to explore!
- Secret Dungeons: While the Vampire Castle will be a huge chain of 'dungeons' and challenges, some areas, even big ones like the Underground Arena, are optional and at times hard to find, like the Underground Arena. Others need to meet a special condition to be discovered. They're dangerous to explore, but you'll be rewarded with can find powerful items if you beat them. Currently only one dungeon completed, the Cronqvist Crypt.
- Slow progress: I'm building this world to have fun and I do it at my own pace, block by block, all by myself, so building the huge castle will take lots of time.
- Fully furnished buildings: Because seeing a town and discovering it's hollow inside is not cool.
- More traps: I love traps. I add them wherever I can fit them. As the projects goes on, there will be more.
- Castlevania references: E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E.
- The Castlevania experience: the final goal is to have a full village and a full castle to lay a simple, yet big adventure. After getting ready at the village, you will travel to the castle, and from there there won't be turning back. You'll have to fight your way in and clear every wing of the castle to hit all the switches to the doors leading to the Throne Room, where the Vampire Lord awaits. But again, it will take a looong time to get there. The good news is I'll use little dungeons as training for the big one at the castle, so you can enjoy some good adventuring in the meantime!
So why release the map now?
Because there's quite a lot of stuff to play with already. It's unfinished as an adventure map (except for completed dungeons), but in Survival you can hole up in the village, or in one of the forts. There's some loot scattered around, so raiding buildings can net some valuable tools and materials. Or you could use it as a multiplayer map for zombie survival or anything you fancy. Or you can go in creative mode and build upon what I started and do your own thing. I really don't mind, on the contrary, I'd feel humbled if anyone would take this labour of love of mine and do something with it.
