This Tekkit build was based on the american bald eagle and features the body as a base and a small castle between it's feet for fighting off mobs e.t.c
The main materials used are snow and basalt. These create a good contrast and merge easily into the landscape at its feet.
The inside is decked in wooden panels (to stop the snow melting).
The eagle could be adapted to make a base. The top of the head and wings could have windows in to act as a lookout however for the look of the build i have not included these features.
