It's been a while since I've uploaded my last build, but I'm happy to be back. I built the Space Shuttle Endeavour with a fictional payload. The shuttle is displayed in orbital configuration with both payload doors open. This is how the shuttle would spend most of its time in space. This build brought back childhood nostalgia from about 10 years ago. It's crazy to think that it has been that long since the last shuttle launch. I thought this build would be a great use of the new 1.16 blocks and a fantastic way to honor the shuttle program.
A little bit about the Space Shuttle...
The Space Shuttle was one of the most unique space craft ever built and quite possibly one of the greatest feats of human engineering thus far. There were 5 Space Shuttles built; Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavour. Space Shuttles Challenger and Columbia were both destroyed in fatal accidents which killed a combined 14 astronauts. All 5 shuttles flew a combined 135 missions to space, carrying 833 total astronauts. The shuttle was a very versatile space ship and the first reusable space ship ever built meaning the same space craft could fly many missions. Space shuttles also flew a wide variety of missions which included satellite deployments, repair/construction missions, and resupply missions to the International Space Station.
