This is the SS Ferric, the Constellation Lines' first screw steamer. Built in 1855, she sailed for six years. In 1861, she was involved in a collision with another ship, the SS Niagara. She managed to stay afloat due to her watertight bulkheads, but eventually broke apart in the heavy waves, and sank. Those who could swim or got away in lifeboats were picked up by the Niagara, and they safely made it back to Southampton. Currently working on: Saloon Class
