SS Yankee Clipper

The SS Yankee Clipper was a proposed ocean liner designed in 1930. It would have been the largest of its time, being 1250 feet long (381 meters long), have the capacity to carry 10 thousand passengers, have a runway for airplanes on its very top and weigh approximately 100 thousand tonnes. The funnels would be retractible and the masts would swing down to provide clearance for the airplanes to land an take off from the runway. After WW2 there was some consideration to bring the project to life, but it never went forward.
