Located near the admiralty in St. Petersburg, St Isaac Cathedral was built between 1818 and 1858, it was ordered by Tsar Alexander I and the plans were designed by Auguste de Montferrand. The cathedral weights around 300 000 tons and is one of the largest Cathedrals with a dome of Europe ( behing St Paul's in London and St Peter's Basilica in Rome )
