Hello Planetminecraft!

This is my first ever upload to this website! It is a test of sorts to see if people like my builds.

I love to create builds from scratch just as much as the next guy,
However I also love to minecraft-ify say a picture or a painting into a 3-D world object.

This is an attempt to turn a cottage painting into a real minecraft cottage beside a lilipad strewn stream.
The texture pack is John Smith's with a few custom textures.

Tell me how it went!

Also, you are free to download the map or the schematic and incorporate into your maps if you wish!
(No need to credit, this is a freebie) I will be uploading further picture to minecraft builds in the future!

I am also eager to take in any requests from anyone to build anything so long as they have a reference picture and can provide me some credit so I can be a little bit more recognized =]

How do you build it??? I really want to build it :P Or  maybe a link 2 a YT vid for a vid on how to build a cottage like this.

Lovely cottage. I like the fact that you made it an odd-numbered width. That really makes it easier to combine it into other builds or maps.

Builds like these are a favorite of mine. Not large and obnoxious, but a moderate size. Not to mention it's beautiful! Well done, especially for a first submission :D

I think that you are amazing.
Just signed up here, took one glance at your build and had to comment. This reminds me so much of a Kinkade painting, and it's absolutely beautiful. I'd definitely love to see some builds based on Kinkade paintings, you have a great grasp of the aesthetics it would take to properly Minecraftify it. Seeing this, I'd be interested to see what you'd come up with if you were trying to capture the essence of a painting rather than model it in Minecraft, like for example trying to capture a similar feel as Van Gogh's Starry Night, but in a build, if that makes sense.

I must admit, when I looked up Kinkade paintings, I was instantly inspired to make more builds based around that style as it looks really beautiful.

Also, I was thinking along the same line as capturing the essence rather than matching something piece by piece.. perhaps in the near future. Maybe with a little more experience, I might be able to achieve such a thing!

Gorgeous build, anyone who has played minecraft long enough can create large, soulless 'megabuilds' but it takes someone truly special to breathe life into a small build like this and make it feel 'alive'.

Everything about this build is great!

I must disagree here. Not everyone can create 'megabuilds'. It takes a certain amount of dedication, creativity and originality to construct something as complex and intricate as a large build. Small builds such as these do take creativity and even problem solving skills to deal with limited space, however they cannot be compared to larger builds that not only take more time and planning, but also require a higher sense of imagination. I am not saying that it doesn't take imagination to make a small build, but you cannot dismiss the players that create large, intricate builds just because they have been playing a long time.

It's JohnSmith V9.7 texture pack and also using Flying sheep's Customizer :D
