Yup that's a radial cosine wave done in red wool. Just decided to play around with some of the lesser used commands that World Edit has to offer those who can wrap their head around them.

It's hard to tell with blocks but the middle is wrong I think. But I bet if you made it bigger it would have been normal though. Can you do the tan function with world edit? The spawn looks cool btw.

Thanks :) Yes you are probably right. It's probably a pretty tight curve in the center for those 1m blocks haha. Yes world edit utilizes the tan function, and lots more most people don't even realize. Judging by your posts that I've seen, you would appreciate seeing this:

haha awesome now I have an excuse to play minecraft in math. I forgot my calculator so I'm graphing all my equations in minecraft.
