Hey all! I'm back!

And this time I have something a little different for you. A Survival Challenge Map!

Basic idea was that after re-watching the whole of Yogcast's brilliant Shadow of Israphel series, I went on the hunt for the Survival Island map they used. I did eventually find it, although was rather saddened to find it was just a recreation using the seed, and didn't actually contain any of the challenges listed in the level.

So, I decided to make one myself, and this is the result!

Every part of this map has been tweaked and altered to give you a specific adventure as you move your way deeper and deeper underground. With a whole wall of challenges for you to complete, puzzles to solve and treasures to find, I'm sure you'll find yourself having loads on fun!

Of course, I have a few ground rules to lay down...

Rules:

- You can play on any difficult aside from Peaceful, but harder difficulties are recommended.

- You may not use any form of cheats or mods such as mapping mods.

- No x-ray texture packs, or packs that alter what blocks are from their standard forms.

- You may not leave the island, or extend the boundary of the island beyond the edge of the drop-off.

Oh, and if any of you decide to do the Optional Level 1 challenge, or even if you don't, let me see how you got on. I very much would like feedback on this to plan future maps!

FAQs

General Questions:

Can I play this map with more than one person?
While the map is designed with only a single player in mind, I don't see any specific reason you can't play it with more than that. However, due to the limited resources available, the more people you have, the harder it will likely be. Personally, I'd recommend stick it 4 people at the very, very most, but 2 or 3 could be fun.

Can I really not leave the island at all?
Considering the fact that you're in the middle of nowhere, even if you could leave the island, there's nothing out there for you. Even so, sticking to the island is the idea. The only reasons I will allow you to leave is to either get an them that fell into the water, or if you need Ink from a Squid.

How am I supposed to get wool without any sheep?
The Minecraft Wiki is your friend.

Help! It's too hard!
Well that's not really a question, but if you have little or no previous experience with survival island maps, then jumping in at the deep end might not be sure a good idea. Have a look around and see if you can find something a little easier to start yourself off.


Challenge Questions:

Challenge 1.3: How big does the house have to be?
Well, filling the whole island would certainly be big enough, but don't forget that you need to fill the ground floor with wool, of which there is a limited supply, so don't go mad. The smallest it should be is the size of the dungeon underground, which is 9x9, so use that as a guide.

Challenge 1.6: How detailed should the diary be?
As detailed as you want really. You can make entries whenever you wish, and talk about whatever. This is just a bit of side-fun if you want to. Just remember you only get 50 pages.

Challenge 2.1: What's a cactus defence wall?
Basically, you have to surround the edge of your island with cacti. They can be all stacked right next to each other or you can leave a 1 block space, your choice, but it has to look like you're actually trying to stop something from attacking.

Challenge 3.6: All of it Grass!?
Ok, technically it doesn't have to be all of it. It can't be anyway because of the cacti, but if you want to leave some sand behind to act as a form of beach you can. The idea is that you just need to make sure there's more Green then Yellow on the island.

Challenge 3.6: A Creeper blew up my grass blocks! Now What?

Challenge 4.1: One of the Cows died!
